In this article published in the journal, History and Anthropology, J. P. Linstroth (PRIO, Oslo) explains the significance of exaggeration, memory, and representation in relation to genocide survival and aspects of discrimination among Mayan-immigrants in South Florida. Birger Angvik, professor in Latin American literature (UiB), has written an alternative history of Latin American literature. The book, titled Høyr meg! Sjå meg! (Hear me! See me!) (Spartacus, in Norwegian), highlights writers in Mexico and Cuba in the period between 1950 and 2000, who earlier have been overshadowed by the male boom-generation in the 1970s.

This book by Turid Hagene published in 2008, explores the issue of love and its place in the reproduction of gender asymmetry in Nicaragua. The theme is discussed in the context of specific religious and work practices, living arrangements, gender values and norms, and the gender practices and legislation of the Sandinista revolution. This book by Turid Hagene published in 2008, investigates from an interdisciplinary perspective a textile cooperative in Nicaragua during the period 1983-2000. Hagene studies the cooperative as a part of the Nicaraguan history after the sandinist revolution, focussing on the meaning of different forms of cooperatives.
